The Wirksworth u3a Local History Group walks take place on the third Thursday of the month usually starting at 10.30 a.m. The Local History Walks will resume after the winter break on Thursday 19th February 2026.

• 16^th April – Bolsover
• 21^st May – Lichfield Cathedral and Town
• 18^th June - Elton
• 16^th July – Cresswell Craggs and The Welbeck Estate
• 20^th August – Melbourne
• 17^th September – The National Justice Museum (Nottingham)
• 15^th October – Ripley
• 19^th November – Middleton by Wirksworth

Details relating to any of our walks will be sent to group members a few days before our visit. We encourage car sharing or the use of public transport for our visits whenever possible. Group members often take advantage of the visit to use local refreshment facilities as part of the visit. Most visits are free but occasionally we make visits that require a payment for access to certain properties or sites.
