Wirksworth and District u3a was launched in 2017.
It is run by its members who choose the activities they want to pursue, anything from photography to Spanish, gardening to current affairs. There are no paid tutors or qualifications, members offer their skills, experience and enthusiasm and learn from each other: a single U3A membership gives access to all the interest groups.
To find out more why not come to one of our friendly, informal monthly coffee mornings. There will be information about the activity groups and usually a stimulating speaker or entertainment. Coffee mornings are held on the first Wednesday of the month, 10.15 am in the Maltings, Wirksworth. The hall has easy access for those with mobility problems. There is a convenient bus stop outside the Memorial Hall
How to Join
If you are already a member of the Wirksworth and District u3a and are interested in joining a particular group please visit the groups page, select the group and click on the coordinator's name to send them an email.
What does it cost?
Annual subscription from August to July is £8.00, if you join after 1st February the fee is £4.00 until the end of July.
Affiliated membership (where main membership is with another U3A) is £4.00, if you join after February £2.00.

At the monthly meeting we ask for a donation of £1 to cover the hire of the room.
Group meetings may take place in a hired venue in which case a fee is charged by the individual group.
